剧情
一个中国北方农村贫苦人家的11岁男孩，因为一个极其偶然的机会，被挑选到北京舞蹈学院学习芭蕾舞。后来又获准来美国学习，并选择留在美国。最后，他离开了他所热爱的芭蕾，成为澳大利亚一名成功的股票经纪人。
幕后花絮
影片改编自华人芭蕾舞演员李存信的自传《舞遍全球》。李存信于1961年出生在贫穷的山东青岛农村。11岁时由于机缘巧合被选入北京舞蹈学院学习芭蕾舞。1979年，他作为第一批公派艺术留学生到了美国，后来他选择留在美国生活，最后成为澳大利亚芭蕾舞团的主要演员。
一九六一年出生于青岛农村的李存信十一岁时被江青看中，选中进入北京舞蹈学院学习，进而被派往美国休斯敦芭蕾舞团。李存信在美国找到人生第一份真爱，这促使他在一九八一年回国前夕作出了惊人的决定，为了艺术和爱叛逃。背着“叛逃”的骂名，李存信展开了一段辉煌的芭蕾人生。在休斯敦芭蕾舞团期间，李存信摘取世界芭蕾舞蹈大赛的两银一铜，被《纽约时报》评为世界十大优秀芭蕾舞演员之一。后在澳洲芭蕾舞团担任主要演员。在舞台生涯将要结束前，李存信通过远程授课，取得了股票经纪资格，成功转型。二零零三年，李存信的自传在澳一出版，即轰动西方世界，并在二零零四年十月获尼尔森图书奖。
