NIRGILIS - Studio Albums 2004--2009
Uploaded by request for Coolwhip. Although I marked this as a remake since I think it’s all already available here in some form or another.Nirgilis is a electronic pop-rock group who came to the attention of most people I know in 2006 when they provide the song ‘sakura’ for Eureka Seven. Interestingly this came on the verge of Nirgilis surviving a rare change: losing all founding members.Nirgilis’ roots go back to 1993, a project started by students Moyo Satake and Takeshi Ito. The two struggled to find a stable line-up, at one point putting the band on hiatus, before finally beginning to meet and recruit the musicians that would fill out Nirgilis’ roster. The whole process went on until 2001, which is why there is a long gap in Nirgilis’ history where you’re not going to find anything by them unless you know a music junkie with boxes of undamaged C90 casette tapes from mid-to-late 90’s live performances. And if you know that guy put me in touch with him so I can make him an offer, heh. Therefore, arguably, we can say Nirgilis began in 2001 when they solidified their five member line-up. In late 2002 they released their first single, followed in early 2003 by their debut album Tennis. Which I couldn’t find to include, sorry, but I have it somewhere so I’ll look. Anyway, in this collection I have put together their other albums:1. 2004: new standard2. 2006: BOY3. 2007: GIRL4. 2008: ChkChkChk5. 2009: RGBOf these albums, new standard is the only one featuring the original five-member band. Moyo Satake left not too long after its release. The other founding member, Takeshi Ito, left after GIRL. It’s not uncommon for bands to have changes in line-ups, but I can’t name many that have continued onward after their founding members walked away. Since September 2007, Nirgilis has been the trio of Acchu Iwata, Yuki Inadera, and Minoru Kurihara. The depatures induced some sonic changes in the band which some fans readily accepted and others wrote off as Nirgilis effectively being an entirely new band. For what my own opinion’s worth, they’ve changed over the lose of Ito and Satake, but haven’t suffered for it.Enjoy as always!
