Origa - Eien 23 September 1998
Origa, aka. Ольга Витальевна Яковлева, is a Russian singer from Kochenёvo who’s spent almost all of her career recording in Japan. She came to the country in 1991—not sure why—and in two years found herself a label. I think most people recognize Origa for her work with Yoko Kanno, beginning in 2002 when Origa provided the vocals for Inner Universe, the OP for ‘Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex’. She would go on to provide the vocals for the second season’s OP as well as that for the related film ‘Solid State Society’ (feat. Heartsdales). Since then she’s gone on to perform with Yoko Kanno at various live concerts.

Eien is Origa’s fourth album, and her last before she began her long series of anime tie-ins (not counting her 1999 best-of album). As you may guess, it’s in Russian, heh. Oddly enough though, it is a Hell of a lot easier to find Origa’s albums on the shelves of any Japanese music store than it is one in Russia. Even though NyaaTorrents is a site for Asian media, I’m uploading this album because you’re going to have a hard time finding Origa’s albums in other countries.
