We have released the TV series before and there is no major issue in processing. Thus, we directly used the previous releases and supplemented some CDs this time. The MOVIE1’s image quality is below average. The lines feature conspicuous aliasing plus loads of severe ringing around its border, which is caused by upscaling from low resolution. We first descaled and reconstructed the image with proper anti-aliasing filter, then removed the ringing aggressively. We separated the text part of the image and applied further deringing due to its preposterous quality. The banding happens in the dark flat area, and we took some regular methods to remove it coordinating with self-adaptive denoising. At last, we cut off the letterboxing and fixed the image border. The MOVIE2 is of high quality with only little imperceptible banding in the dark area. We treated it mildly. Then we applied the self-adaptive denoising.
