Only slight color banding is observed occasionally in action scenes of the other world. The source's native resolution is estimated to be at around 844p. Our processing emphasizes preserving fine details and graphics effects, for instance, applying anti-aliasing without altering line styles, maintaining static grain present exclusively in modern-date scenes, and avoiding harm to the pixel art drawings and retrospective cut-scenes. 本作は幻の名作と呼ばれてもいた。劇場公開は1992年末で、VHSとレーザーディスクが1993年にリリースされていたものの廃盤。ずっとDVDおよびBlu-ray化がされていなかった。ミニシアターでのリバイバル上映がごく限られた時間に実施されており、特に2022年の神保町シアターでの上映では連日満席の大盛況にもなっていた。 そして、Blu-ray化およびDVDレンタルの開始は2022年末。なんと劇場公開から30年の時が経ってからだったのだ。Netflixで誰でも観られるようになったということは、本作のファンにとって奇跡と言っても過言ではない。 そして、本編は独特のアニメの表現がされた「音楽シーン」が特に魅力的であり、切ない物語に「危うさ」も感じることも重要な作品だったように思う。その理由を記していこう。
