Its art style features a blending of sharp, dark line art with softer textures. However, strong color banding is prevalent among scenes with high contrast (e.g. dawn and night scenes). While constant film grain was added in Blu-ray production, not only did it fail to mitigate color banding issues, but it also caused the textures to look unclean, which is undesirable. During post-processing, we adaptively repaired edge artifacts introduced by upscaling, increased the strength of debanding filters, and removed most of the film grain.
