Ive Sound - Ive Mania Tracks Volume 1 29 December 2007 Note: This is a lossy rip of the same album as #8014 posted by in 2008 by an anonymous NyaaTorrents user. Although I have ripped from the original album and not from that torrent’s contents.I will confess to being a big fan of I’ve Sound, the techno/trance/pop production group led by Kazuya Takase. The group features a rotating cast of female vocalists, so-called utahime 歌姫 by fans, who eventually ‘graduate’ from I’ve Sound similar to mainstream J-Pop groups like AKB48 and Morning Musume. A lot of fans end up with particular utahime whom they prefer; for anyone who cares, Mell and Eiko Shimamiya are my favorites, and I’m not sure why Kotoko is so popular despite owning most of her albums like a hypocrite, lol.I’ve Sound is sometimes credited simply as I’ve, particularly in eroge from the late 90’s and early 2000’s. In fact, their big first break came from such a game: Kannon by Key, released in 1999. The songs I’ve contributed appear as insert songs in the 2002 anime adaptation.At this time of writing the utahime roster is the shortest it’s been in years. The two most prominent members, of six total, are Mami Kawada and Larval Stage Planning Airi Kirishima, Nami Maisaki, and Rin Asami.Mami Kawada appears on this album, but the others do not. I’ve Mania Tracks Volume 1 is a collection of songs that were already hard to find at the time of its release. Which makes it a great CD for devoted collectors. The utahime for the eleven tracks are as follows:1. Outer2. Momo3. Kotoko4. Inosuke Tsutsumi5. Kotoko6. Mami Kawada7. Outer8. Eiko Shimamiya9. Kotoko10. Kotoko11. Outer12. C.G. WISE - Children of the Sun 10 October 2007 WISE—also spelled ‘Wise’ sometimes—is the stage name of Seiji Kameyama, a Japanese-American rap, hip-hop artist who made his commercial debut back in early 2007 with the single Shine Like a Star. That song appears on this album, Children of the Sun, his debut solo album released later that same year. Much of his work, however, has been with other artists: he is one of the four emcees of Teriyaki Boyz and has either been featured in or produced songs for fumika, the New Classics, Salyu, Kana Nishino, Beat Crusaders, LIL, Tiara, et al. Since his appearance in 2005 with Teriyaki Boyz, Wise has released only two solo albums in nine years, most often seen working with other artists instead and these days often behind the scenes. So if you’re a fan of Japanese hip-hop and rap, and you missed out on this album—I don’t remember it charting well, but I could be wrong—then you should definitely check it out.Enjoy the music as always!Note: The first of probably three or four albums I’m going to rip and upload this morning. Rimi Natsukawa - Tida ~Tida Kaji nu Umui~ 21 September 2002 This is Rimi Natsukawa’s debut album. The title is in 「沖縄口」, i.e. Okinawan / Northern Ryuukan; as such, every one of the songs either makes reference to Okinawa directly or indirectly in language and lyrical structure, or is a cover of a song by an Okinawan musician. Nada Sousou is easily the most famous of these. The song was originally written by Ryoko Moriyama in 1998, covered by the Okinawan band Begin in 2000 which Moriyama had joined, but it did not gain any mainstream popularity until Natsukawa’s cover in 2001. Begin guitarist Masaru Shimabukuro wrote the second song on this album, although it is one of the four songs which are not covers tracks two, four, seven, and nine. Which means seven of the tracks are, but unless you’re familiar with Okinawan artists like Kiroro, Tsuneo Fukuhara, or Parsha Club, then you probably haven’t heard the originals. The album is also notable for containing two Okinawan folk songs: tracks one and eight respectively, arranged by Seiichi Kyouda.Enjoy!

Tamaki Nami - Greeting 25 February 2004 Tamaki Nami is one of those J-Pop stars who found success at a young age, capturing the attention of Sony at the age of thirteen. Two years later she released her debut single, Belive, which had a boost in popularity and sales thanks to being an opening song for Mobile Suit Gundam Seed. And then a year later this album, which I remember being bathed in critical acclaim. Looking back at the album now, a decade later, I must admit that I personally am no longer sure why it received such accolades upon its release. Musically and lyrically there is nothing to seriously distinguish this album from other contemporary J-Pop music. But Tamaki had whatever indescribably ‘it factor’ that has catapulted the stardom of many a J-Pop artist. And all that said, a lot of Japanese pop fans should like the album even if it is pedestrian as a whole.Enjoy as always everyone!
